Legal Travel To Cuba – A New Reality for US Citizens?

Cuba - Che Gueverra Mural

For nearly fifty years the US has held an embargo over trade and travel to Cuba. Recently a bill was introduced to potentially lift this ban, which would enable American citizen to fly directly to Cuba and would reopen possibilities for the exchange of goods.

Last Wednesday, the House Agriculture Committee approved House Resolution 4645, which would lift the travel ban to Cuba, the only country in the world to which the U.S. government prohibits visits by its citizens.

via At last, legal travel to Cuba seems to be on horizon.

This is great news for the over 1,600,000 legal Cuban Americans and will likely result in a lift to the economy in Cuba; but for those of us who have been traveling to Cuba throughout the ban, we can’t help but wonder whether this will be the end of the beautiful island that time seems to have forgotten? How quickly will MacDonalds and Walmart move in?

What do you think?
