We spent a glorious day at the Elephant Nature Park, just outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. I’m going to do a proper post on the experience in the next few days, but thought I would share this ridiculous picture of me getting a kiss by a young elephant.

Thanks Sophie!
How great to get a photo of that kiss! Very sweet.
I think the mahout was playing a practical joke on me. He basically said, please stand still and all of a sudden there’s this elephant trunk on my face.
I guess that’s what happens when you sidle up to an elephant and murmer “what’s a nice elephant like you doing in a place like this?”

Ha! This one made me laugh!
HAHA! Wasn’t your face so slimy afterward, though? I held hands/trunks with an elephant in South Africa last spring and couldn’t believe all the mucus that cheeky pachyderm left behind on me!

Yep, I was covered in elephant snot with a bit of dirt mixed in for good measure. I’m hoping it’s good for my pores. An elephant snot facial. That’s got to be good, right?
Awww, that is such a lovely photograph. What on earth did that feel like? I love elephants but I’m not sure I’d fancy getting a kiss from one!
